The Silver Horn Echoes A Song of Roland It's not just a story of battles, but of legacy duty and the eternal struggle to do the right thing even when it hurts. Bad guys are just bad guys they have their motives their wounds their reasons.

Roland's task would have been easy if he was only fighting external enemies. Fighting members of the kings family? That's drama unfolding, and I can't wait to read more.

From this great review, the book also seems to be great .It appears to center around a battlefield where, historically, kings overthrew one another and took power. However, it's disappointing that the characters are not deeply explained.

A well summarized review that creates intrigue while reading it. There are fighting scenes that will appeal to action lovers. It also interests politics enthusiasts to see how it played out during such an era.

Sounds quite interesting by association, because I am familiar with The Song of Roland, and to read a story based on this epic poem is intriguing to me. I like how it is described so well thought-through, giving reasoning to the actions of all characters and bringing visuals to your mind, and I am very grateful to get such a wonderful book for free. Thanks for the gift and congrats on BOTD!

The author does a nice job balancing action with deeper reflections. There are some powerful moments around doubt, honor, and loyalty, which really stand out if you're into that kind of storytelling. It’s definitely a good pick for readers who like a thoughtful, epic vibe.
That said, a few characters felt like they deserved more time in the spotlight, and there were parts that dragged a bit — made the reading feel slow here and there. Still, the book has a unique identity, and it's the kind of story that sparks some really interesting thoughts, especially when you start digging into the philosophy behind it.

Built around the exploits of its hero, Roland, around 801 CE, the novel explores how the Franks, under King Charles, fought on two fronts. The Saxons represented pressure from the north, while the Saracens pushed up through Barcelona, planning to conquer their way through the kingdom. Religion and faith are at stake as well as land and human conquests, pitting Christianity against both Norse paganism and Islam
The Silver Horn Echoes: A Song of Roland by Michael Eging and Steve Arnold is an immersive reimagining of the legendary Chanson de Roland. Set in the turbulent medieval era, the novel weaves a tale of duty, ambition, and sacrifice as young Roland, heir to the Breton March, faces the brutal realities of war and political intrigue. Rich in historical detail and gripping battle sequences, it captures the essence of chivalry while breathing fresh life into a timeless epic. A must-read for fans of medieval adventure and heroic storytelling
The Silver Horn Echoes by Michael Eging and Steve Arnold is a sweeping historical epic that is rich in its characters, plot, and legend.

"The Silver Horn Echoes: A Song of Roland" is an action-based medieval war story based on the epic poem "La Chanson de Roland." The story follows Roland as he takes on the role of the king's champion and helps King Charles fight both external and internal threats to the throne. Congrats on BOTD!

This book has a perfect blend of history and fiction. The author does a great job of immersing readers into the tale. I like that the book has just the right amount of action to make the reading experience feel like watching a movie. Plus, the plot is well developed and the book seems well written in general.

"The Silver Horn Echoes: A Song of Roland" by Michael Eging and Steve Arnold is a historical novel that takes place in Medieval Europe during the time of Charlemagne. Roland is a young nobleman who experiences a visit from the ghost of his father William who tells him to take on his old role as the king’s champion. Roland will need to help King Charles fight foreign enemies but also fight against his own family members who are attempting to seize the throne. This story is based on a 13th century epic poem, the song of Roland, but this old poem seemed like a fairytale. The book mixes together historical fact with historical literature. Being based on a story that is more than 800 years old and there are historical inaccuracies but not enough to discredit the story or make the book less enjoyable. The glowing descriptions about the places and people in medieval times highlights a world where glory was won on the battlefield. The authors fairly assess both sides of the conflict and the villains are not evil. It was a time when two different factions were vying for control of England. There is plenty of action in this war story that focuses on many of the major battles that took place during these medieval times. At times the story reads like a movie script but since the weaponry was mostly swords, lances, chains and fire, it would have to enhanced by cinematographers before it could be an award-winning movie. The book does not include narratives about the characters thoughts and how they felt about the war and the throne of England. Their actions demonstrate the kind of warriors they were and what they were trying to accomplish. This is an amazing story that is very entertaining and readers should really enjoy it.
