The book sounds interesting and heartwarming. The result of war on a person's life is really devastating but it is always interesting to read people's stories. It will be interesting to find out how the Paine family was impacted by all this and maybe learn something new in the process. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I like your review and at first I was unsure of what kind of genre this book would fit into. I think that it is appropriately titled as historical fiction, but many parts seem very realistic and could fit into anyone's family in any century. I also like that despite the family estrangement, Treat becomes close with his father again as they share war stories. I can only imagine the kinds of horrors during the two World Wars and the lasting impacts that those wars had on families.

I love historical fiction, especially war stories. This particular book sounds emotional and character-driven. Using journal entries and other documents adds a nice personal touch. Thanks for the informative review and recommendation!

Today's BOTD is a historical fiction novel that combines family drama and war fiction together into one narrative. In addition to being pulled in by the vivid, descriptive scenes, readers will feel an immediate connection to the characters and their relationships with one another. This sounds like a moving read. Thank you so much for your review! :-)

Thanks for a detailed review, I'm not a lover of historical fiction but, this one sounds intriguing and I want to know more about Treat's experience.

Thanks for a vivid review. This book would definitely suit lovers of war and history. I like that the details follow the life of a fictional character rather than just prose.

Nobody wins a war: it only leaves death on its wake. War is a very difficult topic in a novel and most painful. I am looking forward to digging into this book and find out how the Paines saw it through and how the war affected the different relationships among the members.

War is not a good thing to experience, even though its provides intriguing stories when told by a good storyteller like this author. I look forward to reading the title. Thanks for the amazing review and recommendation.

"The Wars Among The Paines" by John M. Millar - War and its impact on several generations of Paines. The author's writing style is pleasant and engaging. The plot is extensive and based on the reality of war. The review was excellent. Thanks.

This book is how someone whose been through so much finally reveals the pain that they've endured through the years and would do anything to feel better. When someone reveals what haunts and hurts the most they feel much better than holding it in.

'Official Review: The Wars Among The Paines' by John M. Millar is a vivid description of the engaging story for readers! The information that parts of the story resemble the author's life is appealing to me! The point that the author provides several facts and figures for readers in the historical fiction story of the book is worth mentioning in the review! The readers find the story relatable to life! Nice to learn that Millar's storytelling is compelling and moving!

It’s great that the historical backdrop is vividly painted. I think It would be fascinating to read about the story of the Paine family as it parallels to the events of the World War 1.

War is most definitely accompanied by a wide range of devastating and long-lasting consequences. I’m sure there have been many families throughout history who have experienced generational impacts from subsequent battles and skirmishes. It sounds like this book explores many notable diseases and conflicts, especially with mentions of Spanish Flu involvement. Thank you for an insightful review!

My heart is too fragile and emphatetic for war novels, so I often stray away from them, however your review makes me want to check out this book.
