I think everyone should embrace who they are and be truthful about their identity. Elizabeth should have been honest with her fiancé. I’d like to see how she navigated the situation.

I can't wait to see how building a house can be riveting, pun intended. Margaret and Elizabeth engage in a modern-day duel. I'm glad the book comes free.

This may not be my kind of story, but it is wonderfully written. The conversations between the characters reflect realistic dialogue that rings true. The book's cover is perfect! Although I won't be reading the novel, I want to congratulate the author on her achievement and earning BOTD honors.

I really want to know the secrets Elizabeth has in her sleeve. The book based on true life story is another attraction. Thanks for the nice review.

The Civil War was a tragedy of epic proportions. While it is remembered for its racial liberation, it cost the lives of many. Women were left to manage their homes without their husbands and sons. Since Margaret was elderly, it sounds as though she may have had the experience to see herself through the hard times. I don't really enjoy historical fiction books, but this one looks like the character development might be more to my liking. Good review.

Let me start off by saying I love historical fiction. Whether it is books or movies. I always like seeing and reading about the past and noticing the differences and similarities. I haven't read this novel yet but your review is very in depth and eye opening. Great job!

One topic that I naturally enjoy is on racism. I like knowing what people other than me think cause I am strongly against it. I feel like I'd enjoy this book. Congrats BOTD.

I haven't read any book that takes readers through the heart of building a house with all its day-to-day challenges. Hence, I think it would be a captivating experience for me. Congrats on being the BOTD!

I love that this book is based on a historical event but is also so well crafted in its fictional details. The fact that it centers on fully developed female characters is a huge draw for me. I'm grateful that this book is free today so I can revisit it when I have some spare time. Thanks for the review!

'Official Review: Rebirth in Acadi' by Susan Swanson has an appealing introduction. I like the way in which the reviewer explores the issues the book raises. The point that the book is based on a true event published in a newspaper article about one of Louisiana's last duels in the 1800s is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that the historical fiction has fully developed female characters, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. Nice to learn that the author has created an engaging story with compelling characters!

When I read the first page of the first chapter, I thought Elizabeth was contemplating suicide. Well, I guess there's more to the story than that. I'd love to know what triggered those thoughts and her need to start afresh.

"Rebirth in Acadi" by Susan Swanson. This an historical fiction book talks about Elizabeth Bancroft and her relocation to the town of Acadi. Will her Rebirth in Acadi be successful? The book is interesting, book. Congrats on #BOTD.
