The author should do well to re-edit this book. It has too good a storyline to be marred by errors. I am interested to know what Malino grew up to be. Did he fulfill the prophecy or not? You wrote a nice review.

This book sounds very interesting. I really hope Malino makes it through this grim childhood to a prosperous adulthood. Thanks for the review.

I would want to understand the reason why the blind and the evil-eyed baby would curse a village. Thanks for your efforts.

As someone rightfully mentioned, slavery was a brutal and cruel practice by racist people in the United States. This Historical fiction book I’m sure is informative as well as emotionally striking. Congratulations on book of the day!

Grillo and Malino are two wonderful characters to watch out for. I haven't read Italian stories so I will definitely give this a read. Congratulations on being the BOTD!!!

The plot brings a lot of deep issues into the story. I'm certain Malino had quite an ordeal in his lifetime. Thank you for your review.

This is an interesting storyline. It doesn't sound like it would make for light reading, though. And it's a shame about the many errors; they can be very off-putting. Thanks for your thoughts.

'Official Review: Malino: The Orphan Road' by Joseph R. Barry well presents the story of a blind, evil-eyed orphan boy from the reviewer's point of view for readers. The strong and weak points of the story of the book have been brought to the knowledge of readers. The point that the book describes the protagonist's journey in a life of discrimination, slavery, political oppression, and economic oppression is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that the book describes the political and economic oppression in detail, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. Nice to learn that the book is an exciting and enjoyable read!

Great review. I enjoyed reading this sample. Malino appears to be a force to be reckoned with. You cannot help but love the character who has been shunned and rejected from birth. What a hurtful thing for a child to grow up knowing nothing but abuse and rejection. But he developed into a strong man. I felt no remorse when he axed Grillo. This is definitely a novel I'd love to finish reading. It's already gripped me. Congrats to the author on an intriguing read and for making it to book of the day.

I don't think this is the one for me, but those who enjoy historical fiction with well-developed characters and powerful themes, today's BOTD sounds like a must-read! Thank you so much for your helpful review and keep up the great work!! :-)

While your review makes this book a fascinating read and a storyline I haven't yet read, I'm a little hesitant because some of the content is not for me. I'm curious about Malino's journey and how it turned out. Great job with the review.

Malino: The Orphan Road is a striking literary commentary on the realities of orphanage, abuse, and dangerous exposures. Malino, the main character, had to endure starvation, abuse, overlabour, and exploitation. These accumulated and altered his humane. I was surprised at the ease with which he murdered Grillo; though Grillo attacked him first. I love the themes explored in this novel. However, I don't know if I can withstand the non-borderline profanity, the gory scenes, and the sexual scenes contained in some sections of the novel.
