In my opinion, this book is not so much a historical fiction as quite ordinary coming-of-age story, but only put in Wild West settings. I might be wrong, but it has all the characteristics of the main character's maturing under the pressure of tragedies and pain she has to encounter through live experiences. Not really my type of book, but still, congrats on BOTD!

This book made me think of a lyrics from my favorite artist, “she was young and she was forced to be a woman.” Oh, how tragic it is, Nell, that you didn’t get to enjoy your childhood. The insight for this book made me sad. It made me feel emotions without having to read the whole book.

This U.S. western historical fiction novel sounds poignant and moving along with adventure in following Nell's life. Great review!

Nell's story seems to be inspiring, and it's a good thing she was able to get over the tragic incident that happened to her. It only takes someone with a strong will and the grace of God to get over the loss of a loved one. Nice review

The review of this book is forthright and makes me want to read the entire book. The beginning really catches at your heart and thoughts and makes you want to keep reading. Starting in the middle of the story with horse theft, then switching back to when Nell was eleven is a great way to get the readers interests.
Great choice for BOTD.

I agree with the review - a great book, very atmospheric and very well written. The story is amazing, and really hard to put down. I think that the quaint language mentioned in the review is not a drawback - it is a part of the atmosphere in which the story is set.

The plot of this novel is an interesting one, I come to think about the measures Nathan would take in Oregon now that she is a young adult taking care of herself and her dad.

I'm a fan of historical fiction, and Nell seems like an outstanding character. Additionally, I'd be interested in learning about Nell and her father's journey to Oregon. Great review, by the way.

This would definitely be an interesting read. Sometimes, life happens to us so fast that we have no option than to adapt as quick as possible. I hope Nell would be able to survive it. Nice review, congrats on BOTD.

This book sounds insteresting. What kind of challenges does Nell faces in her life? And what happened to her mother and brother? These what really piqued my interest. Thanks for the review.

Today’s book looks into the wild west from the lens of a female character. It seems to explore the role of women in the family, community, and society. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

Nell seems like a great girl with a great destiny ahead of her especially with the experiences she faces on the way and moving to Oregen to symbolize change which is inevitable but beneficial to the duo(Nell and her father).
A book in the 1800's yet offers great inspiration and edification in the 21st century.
A offer big hand clap to the author once again congratulations.
