Today's book appears to provide a vivid depiction of ancient Greek life and culture. It rekindles interest in the old city's history and society.

Although historical fiction is not the type I really enjoy, your review made me curious to know what happened to the main characters in the story. From your explanation it is quite clear that the plot has been set up in an intriguing manner which makes it even more interesting. Thanks for such a great review.

I read a lot of books in this genre in my early days in school as required reading. It would be refreshing to read a book written now in the genre and see how the author built the characters and the world. I think that it will be very intriguing.

I’m torn! I love Greek mythology but I’m not into the historical genre at all. Pericles does seem to have an interesting story, so I’ll need to find out more before I decide if this is a book for me or not. Great review!

The reviewer has brought forward a new view of renowned philosophers, as well as warriors and romance. This reintroduction of the gods and their followers brings historical fiction to fill in some gaps. Great and challenging journey in historical fiction. Well-done review.

The BOTD is a historical fiction story set in Greece featuring Pericles and Aspasia. The laws in Athens prevent relationships with foreigners, making their romance illegal. Good review.

This seems to be an interesting historical fiction book. Pericles and Aspasia's romance has a lot of obstacles to scale. Thanks for the review.

“Pericles and Aspasia” by Yvonne Korshak is a historical fiction that takes place in ancient Greece. Aspasia, a prostitute, meets Pericles after her daring escape from pirates who were planning to sell her with her father’s scrolls in Athens. Pericles is married with two sons and he had created a law that prevented citizens from marrying foreigners. This law does not bode well for Aspasia. A well written 557-page book that delves into Greek mythology and makes one wonder if the law will change after the war with Sparta. I am adding this book to my To-Read shelf. The review is excellent.

The review provides a comprehensive overview of "Pericles and Aspasia: A Story of Ancient Greece" by Yvonne Korshak. The reviewer praises the author's ability to transport readers to ancient Greece, capturing the romance between Aspasia and Pericles despite their differences and the obstacles they face. The mention of Greek mythology and the author's incorporation of Zeus giving birth to Athena through his head adds an interesting touch. The reviewer appreciates the differentiation of correspondence using bold and italic print and highlights the presence of philosophical paradoxes throughout the story. The life lessons presented, such as "the man working only for himself is working against the rest," resonated with the reviewer. The inclusion of additional materials like a character list, research sources, quotation sources, and a map is seen as a positive aspect. The reviewer expresses eagerness for the upcoming sequel. Overall, the book is highly recommended to fans of Greek mythology, history, philosophy, and romance, although sensitive readers should be cautious due to some gory content and minimal non-borderline profanity. With only two minor errors, the reviewer believes the book deserves a flawless 5 out of 5 stars.
Sincerely,
Sondang :tiphat:
