Re: Review of Ambitions

Post by MUKHTAR SHERIFF »

Frank Baillargeon authored a very inspirational book "Ambitions." It is a book about resilience and relentlessness in the pursuit of one's goals in life. Consistency and doggedness oftentimes result in success. John, the main character struggled with life's obstacles to success, but his determined stance to reach a breakthrough led him to self fulfilment through the twist of a course.

The book is a motivational piece for people who are challenged to the point of despair in their struggle to make ends meet.

Definitely not my cup of tea, since I could never decide for myself whether ambition is a good or bad quality in a person. On one hand, they drive to achieve success, but on the other, people with them are prone to corruption and other flaws. Also, as a pacifist, I abhore any type of fighting.

From this review, I can say that "Ambitions" by Frank Baillargeon dipicts to the struggles of immigrants as they strive to survive in a foreign land. Thanks for the review.

John is easy to root for. All the indicators point to a short and brutal life but he makes something out of it. Albeit with love being the wind in his sails.

John’s journey is truly inspiring and it does give us a sign of hope. The ambition, determination, and perseverance John displayed throughout the book is very admirable. Thank you for writing an honest and insightful review!

It feels like very positive very encouraging story. You do not always need to follow the standards to become successful and happy in life. So John did what his mom told him to do and this ended up being the best option for him and also for his family.

I enjoyed reading your review. No spoilers, which I appreciate, and yet you describe John's tenacity in pursuit of his dream. The sample demonstrated how determined he was and gave us a glimpse into his future. I appreciated the addition of your personal inspiration from reading the book, feeling more motivated to pursue your own goals and aspirations. Thank you for a great review! Congratulations to the author on BOTD and a 5 out of 5 review!

I read a sample and didn't really like the first chapter, but after reading this review, I think I have to change my opinion and maybe give it a shot!

Books that feature a protagonist that exhibits perseverance against extensive obstacles are exceptional teaching tools for those of us who need a kick in the pants now and then. John sounds like one of those characters. Congrats to the author on his achievement.
