From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction following James Bingham, an English lawyer, who is sent to Turkey to ensure that the laws and court run well and justice, law and order run smoothly. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

I hope James is able to bring law and justice to Constantinople. I'm not sure I fully understand the book's plot from the review, so I'll pass on this book.

Thank you for the intriguing review of "A Court at Constantinople" by Anthony Earth. I would have liked to know the time period of this 300 page historical-fiction masterpiece but I shall read just have to it to find that out! When there is so much blending of cultures and the law, customs, language, well-developed personalities and finely-crafted story-telling that is a hard to resist compilation. It is interesting that the story starts with a ‘lonely’ man and then he changes his setting. I find that interesting because that is a perfect time to embark on a new adventure in one’s life. Congratulations on book-of-the-day! :reading-3:

The author skillfully portrays law, justice, love, and abuse in a short book, which I think deserves appreciation. How are Rosamund, James, and Mehmed interconnected? Will they uphold justice? This is an exciting book to read.

This book sounds like a political thriller. Mehmed, James, and Rosamund seem to be the characters that make the political thriller interesting as they do their best to uphold the law and bring justice. I don't mind reading this book.

The book sounds very intriguing. I am going to put "A Court at Constantinople" on my list of books to read. You would think that there would be justice in a court of law, but many times, there is none.

This book is highly appealing to me as I have a penchant for historical legal fiction. The author has built a connection with the two main characters straight away which has me wanting to see how they will develop and interact in this mix of cultures.
