Love the cover and the title. I am a fan of historical fiction. France and that time period of its history is an interest of mine. Characters looking for heirlooms sounds intriguing. Plus your review is very positive and enthusiastic. Will add it to my want-to-read list. Thanks for the review!

I was truly captivated by the story of a young student being trapped by the secret society in France. The story absolutely could show a political and economic change in mid-century France.

Just by the looks of it, I already knew I'd fall hard and fast for this and the review proves it. I'm a huge fan of historical fiction, regency-type novels and this has gotten me curious about the plot's connection to the attractive cover. I'm always on the lookout for an intelligent, complicated and satisfying read and this one fits the bill spot on! Thanks for the awesome review.

The reviewer's recommendation that "if you liked Le Miserables, you will like this as well" really touched me. That recommendation was enough for me to decide to read this fiction as soon as possible. Thanks for the descriptive review and I have a strong feeling that this must be really a good book 😍😍

The thought of reading a book of such intrigue as secret society's and blackmail has me looking forward to reading this book. I especially loved the phrase
"slipping into the time periods like I was slipping on silk gloves"
, and the fact that you found this to be comparable to a classic manuscript. Thank you for such a compelling review which has convinced me that this must be added to my reading list.

Thinking it was going to be another history story, I started reading prologue and I was hooked. It's full of mystery and adventurous, full of suspense. Read the review and was intrigued more. Can't wait to finish reading.

Historical fiction genre is not my favourite, because I do feel authors sometimes overwhelm the reader with facts. But as you mentioned, this is not the case with this book. I love a good mystery, so I am intrigued to find out more about the story. This is a great review.
