Me complace otorgar a este libro 3 out of 4 stars.

I would love to read this sometime. I haven't been back to Dom Rep in over a decade and since I have lived in an English-speaking country most my life, I don't do much reading and writing in Spanish. So, thanks for this. Great review.

¡Agradezco tus comentarios!

The story names many little towns as the different characters cross the island to meet at the family farm. A map helps readers to visualize where each one is and how far they have left to travel. I loved the history the author put into this book. Hope you have a chance to read it. Thanks for much for commenting!

My Spanish grammar sucks too much to write a comment, but I can read your review, and let me say how great your review was! Based on the summary you provided, the book sounds very interesting and informative. I'd like to think I could catch the grammatical errors, but I'm sure I wouldn't even notice. May help me enjoy the book better? haha Also, I think a glossary certainly would be so useful for the more unfamiliar dialectical words. Thanks!

I can read in spanish. The premise seems nice at first. I don't know if the book is original. In Django Unchained there is also a black girl named Brunilda. Anyway, thanks for your review. I am sure I will read the book when the time arises. :tiphat:
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

Agradezco tus comentarios.

The author had done quite a bit of research to write the book and includes many historical facts. President Trujillo ordered racial cleansing of the Haitians and ordered that all Dominicans must carry a government-issued ID at all times. I especially enjoyed the author's telling the story from the different perspectives. The reader learns about the way the different citizens faced this troubling time. I hope you will be able to read the book. Thanks so much for your comments!

This is a part of history about Haiti and the Dominican Republic that is little known. I hope, too, that the author will be able to get this book translated. Thanks for your comments and interest!
