Interested in fantasy, historical and time travel story? Then there is the combo. First Lesson is the first book of a series called A Medival Tale by Lina J Potter. This story mainly talks about a medical student Aliya who die in a car accident and find herself travelled past in body of Lilian or Lily. She got really confused but finally she realize that she got a second chance. She finds herself in a broken and dirty castle and the condition of her estate was also very miserable. Lily's husband neither loved her not live with her. Aliya(Lily) decide that she will fix the castle and make that place better for living. But she found it really difficult to do all these without getting any attention in a men dominating world. She need to be really careful because her one wrong step can create a great problem for her. Many robbers have set their eyes on the castle. Her husband can arrive at any time there and the family matters were life-threatening for her. Will she able to make a happy life of her in that new and unfamiliar world? How long will she be able to hide her true identity?

The character of the story are very impressive. I really love Aliya the main character. Instead of being worry and depressed she quickly realize the condition and take charge. Her old and new knowledge (which she takes from the books) of the society made her to work on her aim professionally and carefully. The most I enjoyed was her mantel conversation with herself. Aliya is a symbol of women empowerment. She is confident, bold, kind, clever and intelligent. She wants to improve the living state of her people. Other characters personalities are also described in a very impressive way. Detailed description of characters life makes the story easy to understand for the reader so that they can keep the smooth flow with the story.

I really like how the author had painted the scenes in words. It makes readers feel that they are also in the story in the middle of all that happening there. One of the best things I like about the book is that it not only just tell about that time but also reveals every detail of the culture, thinking, types of professions, religion and social and economic life of that time.

Its fantasy is really impressive. The shifting of scenes from one place to another and from one person to another makes the book very impressive and make a great twist. When you'll start reading the book you find it really difficult to close it. Because each scene make a great interest and a curiosity in the reader to think what will happen next.

I definitely give the book 4 out of 4 stars and highly recommend it to those who really like fantasy and historical book just like me. I assure you that you'll love this book as I do. I don't find any error in the book. Some of the situations are a little confusing but those will be cleared when you'll read the full series. I can't wait to complete the full series and see what happen next because the author had ended this one in great excitement, twist and suspense. Lastly, I'll like to thank the author for such a great book.
