Review by sherryskinner72 -- Apollo's Raven
If you are a fan of mythology and fantasy like I am, then I believe you will love to read Apollo's Raven by Linnea Tanner. I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars! This story was written and edited well, there wasn't anything I did not like about this book, to me it was perfect! It is intriguing!
The story has fantasy, magic, mystery, a forbidden romance, tension, and betrayal, it had me hooked from the beginning! I read this book in one day, I just couldn't put it down because I needed to see what happened next. And that is rare for me, I hardly ever read a book in one day.
The way the author writes had me feeling as if I was there in person with the characters, transporting me back in time to the places in the story. You could feel the tension between the Celtic warriors and the Roman soldiers. The descriptions, the events, all so well written.
The story follows a young woman who is the King's daughter, not only a princess, but a trained Celtic warrior, who is experiencing things for the first time, and trying to find her place in the world. She is so brave, headstrong, and passionate. She falls in love with the enemy, which is forbidden. The way the author describes them, you could feel the love they experienced through the words on the pages, the passion, the tension, the heartbreak.
I liked how the author writes about different characters and their stories, and it all comes together without getting lost or confused on which plot is what. All the characters mentioned are tangled together somehow from the past, and the author does a great job keeping everything together, so the reader doesn't get lost.
I have read many other mythology and romance novels, and I have to say this one is certainly at the top of my list! It is amazing! I liked how the author is knowledgeable about the time period, the history, and the events that occurred. She really shows she knows about the cultures of the people, and how it might have been during the time period.
Apollo's Raven is book one in Linnea Tanner's series called, Curse of The Clansmen and Kings. I can not wait to read the rest of the series! I look forward from escaping reality and getting lost back in time in this series!
