Review by love_jackline -- A Police Action by A. A. Freda
What a book! That's what I thought all the while I was reading A Police Action. A. A. Freda clearly charmed his way into my heart without even trying. The writing was simply from another world. I give the book 4 out of 4 stars.
A Police Action is a book that once you start reading, you can't bear to put it away. It's simply that good. This being the first time I'm reading Historical Fiction, I guess I can say A Police Action made me yearn for more. The book has a well established plot right from the beginning to the end. A captivating story about a war termed A Police Action, you know from the start what message the author is trying to lay across.
A. A. Freda uses words that are easy to understand. And since the book is a military affair, we come across new vocabularies, mainly the titles used to address people in various positions in the army. A Police Action gives us an insight into the lives that military men live while out in the field on their assignments.
You empathize with the soldiers. The challenges they encounter are sobering. They live with the uncertainty of whether or not they'll be the next victims. Death is a reality they face each and every day. This just makes you appreciate the soldiers' courage in carrying out their assignments. The loyalty portrayed by the soldiers is another thing that will make you think twice about where your loyalties lie in real life.
But despite the air of tension the book manages to create effortlessly, A. A. Freda tries to break it by incorporating humor. The main character is a really humorous and lovable fellow. Almost all his sentences have a touch of humor to them. You'll simply find yourself laughing at a joke he cracks.
There is clearly a balance between the pain and pleasure in the book, something A. A. Freda appears to do without breaking a sweat.
Well, for lovers of romance, you'd be thrilled to learn that A. A. Freda explores that dimension too. Sex scenes are present. On a rating of 1-5,the scenes get a 3.They are well explained and leave little to your imagination.
I'd say that A Police Action was professionally written and edited since not once did I come across any mistakes ;printing or grammatical. It was without a doubt well written. I would recommend the book be read by adults since some of words used are certainly not for the young to come across. Not forgetting the sex scenes. If you are looking for a good read, I'd recommend you check out A Police Action by A. A. Freda. The book is simply spell binding to the point that it will keep you glued to your seat. Another plus for the book is that it does not lean towards any type of religion. So grab your copy of A Police Action and start reading it now!
