Great review. I understood the struggles of Marty where she has to keep on proving her worth and skills not only to her boss, but also to her male colleagues. The struggle for women in the workforce is still evident in the present time.

This story is about the struggle women have with regards to work. It appears that she is in quandary as to how impressed is the boss with her performance or with the way she performs as a woman. Sexual equality in work or some subtle harassment seems what women are in for in their employment. The latter would be disgraceful if it becomes the case. It would be delightful to read about women's side on this case. Hoping to find time to read this book. Thanks for the interesting review.

At the time this book was set, women suffrage was beginning to pick up pace. However, there's still much left undone to fully give women a sense of belonging in a male dominated world. Great story that calls for sober reflections.

I love any book that describes the setting of any war era as precisely as this one does. Plus the more specific focus on the stuff women had to deal with in the WWII era shows how far we've come as a society.
