The book follows the journey of Sandra Eden, a British SOE agent, in WWII. Along with other agents, she is tasked with assisting European nations to liberate from Nazi rule. Although the author states the book to be a work of fiction, yet the Author memorializes the story to commemorate the bravery of these unsung heroes.

Sandra Eden's War starts out with Agent Sandra Eden being parachuted to Normandy. The flight lieutenant dropping her off, James Silvertone, is horrified when he realizes her parachute did not open. He is certain of her death, mourning briefly while avoiding German forces on his way back to the base. Right off the bat, there is a certain element of suspense that keeps the reader wanting more. In the chapter, the Major notifies Sandra's family of her MIA status (presumably dead) and even chooses a replacement agent, making the reader more anxious to know if there was another twist to anticipate.

The writing of this book is very well organized and easy to understand. It is not a very difficult read, but a good choice for when you want to learn about WWII from a different, less complex book structure. Another thing I loved about this book was that the protagonist was female. Not many books on war written from the perspective of a woman and not many of those are written well. However, Sandra is characterized to be a very iron-willed person, always putting herself in danger for the good of other people.

Overall, the things I look for in historical fiction were all here. Accuracy, suspense, intriguing characters, and a storyline that revolves around an event while putting in the personal lives of characters. I loved it, and would definitely recommend it to others. (Especially history buffs.)

This is my first review, and I give this book a 4 out of 4!
