Sandra Eden’s War is a fictional work written by Michael Low. The story is set during the period of World War II. The lead role of the story is Sandra Eden who is a British SOE (Special Operations Executive) agent.

We are all aware of the Second World War. The root cause of it is Nazism. During this period, Sandra Eden, who is an SOE agent in Britain is parachuted into France just a few weeks before the D-Day, in 1944. She is assigned a mission to interrupt and stop the German troop in and around Normandy. Sandra is assisted by the French resistance forces in her mission. From the time she jumps off the plane at the beginning, till the end, the book is fascinating. The book, Sandra Eden’s War tells everything about her mission, her confidence, and her courage.

The author has crafted Sandra’s character beautifully in the story. She is very strong and impressive, which makes the story special. There are other characters like Michel, James, Nancy et cetera, who also play an important role in the story. Michael Low has given a great picture and details of the war. It is informative and interesting at the same time. Sandra Eden’s War is not a thriller or a suspense novel, but still, it keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. This shows that the author’s writing is narrative and persuasive.

I appreciate the fact that a woman is the hero of a story, especially like this one. Sandra’s character is inspiring and motivating. Her tolerance and bravery are remarkable. I love how short and to-the-point this book is. There is no unnecessary exaggeration and drama which makes it easier for the reader to focus on the main plot and the conflict. The biggest appeal for me is the depth and description of the war. It seems very realistic. Mr. Low has depicted the negative sides of the war extremely well, as it also shows the struggles and sacrifices of the warriors. Overall this novel is elucidative, educational, and interesting.

There is absolutely nothing that I disliked about this book. Every aspect of the story is well-written and engaging. I did not find any errors in the book, so I can say that the book is professionally edited. With all these positive points, I rate this book, 4 out of 4 stars. There is no reason for me to rate this any lower.

The book, Sandra Eden’s War does not contain obscene scenes and profanity. I recommend this book to all those who like reading historical fiction and woman-centric books. It is also suitable for the students with History as their subject, as this book is highly informative. I do not recommend this novel to the people who are sensitive to subjects like war and tragedy, as it can be evocative to them.
