The World War II was a global war which spanned between 1939 to 1945 and it tested the core of humanity. In the center of this horrific war, which is one of the most terrifying and deadliest in the history of mankind, were committed and loyal war heroes who dedicated their lives to fighting for the freedom of people, sovereignty of countries and establishing peace in the world at large.

Sandra Eden was one of such heroes; one of Britain’s finest agents and a Special Operations Executive. The SOE agents undergo the most rigorous trainings and are entrusted with the most secretive and dangerous assignments. Sandra was parachuted into France to lead the French Resistance in disrupting the activities of the German forces in Normandy ahead of the anticipated invasion of the Allied Forces. The German army was such a strong opposition that it took the combined efforts of England, American and France to fight them.

Sandra Eden’s war by Michael Low is an engaging book that would have you wondering how Sandra will survive the ‘Roman Candle’. Will she record any success in the face of the intimidating cruelty and doggedness of the German forces? Although Sandra had enormous help from the French Resistance, her sheer bravery, intelligence and courage will leave you in awe. She was fearless and she went above and beyond in carrying out every assignment with precision.

This book was professionally edited as I did not see any error in it and seeing that I enjoyed reading this book so much, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. It will be a fantastic read for people who love history and young adults who need to brush up on their knowledge of the World War II. Unfortunately, this book may trigger upsetting memories for people who lost loved ones in the course of this tragic war or persons who lived through this war. Also, individuals who are averse to bloodshed may find some pages of this book disturbing as there are instances of murder, bloodshed and some torture depicted in the book.

I cannot think of anything that I disliked in the book. I like the fact that there was no erotic description in the book and the use of profane words were kept to the barest minimum. It was so refreshing reading a book on the WW II with a female protagonist that was as extraordinary as Sandra Eden.
