Thanks for your interesting review. Unfortunately, classical romance novels are too predictable, and as you said, there are hardly any surprises here. I guess I will skip this book.

Yes, and that is a shame, wouldn’t you say? I guess it is because romance novels need a happy ending :eusa-think: but it would be really cool to be totally surprised for once! 8) Thanks for commenting!

This book seems to bring some historical events mixed with fictional characters, it sounds intriguing. I don't know if it is for me since I'm not into romances with historical fiction, but I will sample it. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review!

Romance novels are not on my list. But the way different elements are blended, interest me. The premise of 18s is something unique. It will be fun to know how the world looked during those times. Superb job on the review :tiphat:

I am a historical fiction fan, but I do like the element of surprise in a story! Historical fiction with romance is even more appealing. I hope there is not too much fact along with the fiction! Sometimes the author gets carried away with page after page of fact and I lose interest in the overall story! I will add this one to my want-to-read list. Thanks for the great review!

I like reading historical novels and being transported to a time when things were so different. Sounds like a good read minus the lack of the element of surprise

Becky is an outstanding woman. One that could fight against all odds to reach her dreams. That's the kind of woman I hope to be. Thanks for your amazing review.

This is a detailed review. It is the perfect way to brace any reader for a thrilling, adventurous and unpredictable read. I will love to join Becky, who is obviously the main character, on her adventures.

Although the story is predictable, I think many readers will find the book a pleasure to read because of the writing style, and the seamless amalgamation of real and fictional events.
Thanks for this thorough and amazing review :tiphat:

Glad that the reviewer got a chance to live a world that existed before modern technology. Also feeling bad that the book could not stun the reviewer with the surprise element they expected.

Becky sounds like an interesting and brave heroine. The setting of the book is also intriguing. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for her to follow her dreams of becoming a doctor. Great job with the review.

The plot could be predictable but the whole story was just so nice and sometimes easy reading makes it interesting.
Back then in those days women were less privileged they couldn't express themselves which wasn't fair .Thanks for giving out your opinion. :tiphat:

I am a big fan of historical fiction/romances.
"Not the Same Waters" is now on my TBR list. But as the review speaks that it is too predictable, I rather prefer to have some elements of surprise. By the way, thank you so much for an honest review, it really helps in selecting the books.
