Thank you for sharing your review with us. I am not particularly interested in reading historical fiction at this time, so I will be passing on this title for now.

The book is set in the background of the Irish Revolution and beautifully portrays the struggles against colonialism. The story is very well researched and nuanced. It can go on to form an important text in the understanding of Ireland's history.

You gave a very informative review. But it did not give me the intrigue I usually look for in books. So I am saying no to this book. Nonetheless great job in doing the review. Keep it up!

I'm bot quite a fan of historical books but this one I might try and read. As a survivor of war, I can relate to almost everything the author has narrated. These are real life situations that people in war countries go through. I feel bad that Esther and Brendan had to sacrifice something for their safety. I believe the book is not triggering since the fighting scenes are not vividly described. Thanks for your wonderful review.

Brendan's life was quite an adventure. I don't usually like historical fiction but the plot seems interesting. I'll try it out. Nice review.

I love historical fiction. The elements the author includes in this book makes it a suitable read for me. Although the slow pace might be a put-downer, I would still like to try this one. Thanks for the review!

The Irish rebellion. I believe that the premise of this book was explored perfectly. It excellently delved into The Irish rebellion, among others. Congratulations on the book of the day.

This book seems to be an interesting read with well-written characters. Unfortunately, I'm not fond of historical fiction. Congrats on BOTD!

This sounds like an intriguing historical fiction dealing with the central character who is an Irish. He has been captured by the Britishers, and sent to an Australian prison. Thank you for the excellent review!

From the seminary to being a war prisoner, Brendan is definitely forced to toughen up in life as he's thrust to different corners of life. I hope this book has a happy ending.

I love reading historical novels, but I've never read a story centered around surviving imprisonment in Australia during that time. I would love to read about Brendan and Esther's experiences and how they dealt with the many challenging obstacles they faced. Congrats on the BOTD selection!

Wow, this is awesome. I never really know anything about Irish and British history. Brendan must had been through a lot of hardship during the war time and I'd really to read that. Thank you so much for this.
