Because of all the uncertainty with the pandemic, I find myself drawn to stories about World War I and World War II. I often wonder how people coped with such turmoil back then.

I like the way you described the characters. I'm sure that, due to his origins, Willy must have found himself in a predicament regarding loyalty.

Thank you for an excellent review.

I have often wondered the same. How does an ordinary person find courage to face such a turmoil? How would I react? Sometimes I even think that our generation is almost lucky to have just the pandemic, and still, that is already bad enough.

Thank you for reading and commenting :)

I'm used to reading the American or European perspective of WWII, but never the Australian. This will be an interesting and informative read. I'm glad you decided to keep reading beyond chapter 1. Thanks for your wonderful review.

I really enjoyed reading your summary of the book and you had me at a historical fiction novel with a hint of romance that shows the madness of war. I'll be sure to check this one out. Thanks for writing a wonderful review!

I had never before stumbled over a story of WWII from the Australian point of view either.
