'Sophistries of summer days' is a brilliantly written piece by Jenny Lofters in a first person narration. The book takes the reader on life walks with Cherrimina, the protagonist and a teenager that lives with her mom and Nanna on an island called Naggo head. Cherrimina is a quiet and very curious girl that lives mostly in her head. She is on a journey of self discovery where she experiences love, faith, lust, desires, growth, loss, eternal friendship and forgiveness.

I kept laughing out loud from healthy doses of humorous phrases which shows us the writer, Jenny Lofters's sense of humour. The circumstances and events in the story is relatable and the brilliant use of patois in the book by the author was exciting. I love how the author gives each of the characters a chance through the use of first person narrations that gets the reader to know and understand the characters more. And also detailed description of events makes the literary work come to life which gives the reader a sense of vivid imagination. This historical story touches interesting facets of human existence from birth, culture, war, growth, self discovery, sexuality and needs. I have lots of take home from reading this book and one of it is 'overcoming trials with hope and inner strength'.

There is not a single negative thing that i have to say about this book as i really enjoyed reading it. This book by Jenny Lofters is well written and I actually gained knowledge of lots of things i never knew before. For example, i learnt from reading the novel how other races came to be in existence, holistic way of life and interesting mixture of common herbs for cure.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as it is professionally edited except for few errors, it has lots of life lessons and relates very well with life circumstances. It is full with humour, detailed description of every single thing and person and invoke genuine and different types of emotions in the reader, as the reader takes the journey with the characters from the beginning to the end.

I would recommend this book to people that loves and enjoy history and adventure.
