We may have heard or read many true stories about WW II that give us a genuine insight into the struggles of soldiers, including pilots and spies. What these exceptional stories have given us are the lessons of bravery and patriotism along with the everlasting effects of wars. The fictional story Sandra Eden's War by Michel Low depicts the strength and hardships of a spy.

The story starts with the parachute drop out of Sandra Eden’s, a British Special Operation Executive Agent, in France. She is shocked when the parachute does not open, and she is received by a tree being fortunate enough. The pilot, not seeing the parachute open, considered her dead and reported it to higher authorities. Another agent is sent in place of her, who is as enthusiastic as Sandra. The mission is to cause as much damage as possible to the Germans with the help of the French resistance. And she proves herself able to lead the French resistance by destroying strong points of German troops, helping in the escape of a fellow agent from the escape-proof Rouen Tower, killing a German with her bare hands, and setting a successful trap for the traitor Alphonso. Meanwhile, the Germans captured her. Will she be successful in escaping or be killed like many other spies?

What I enjoy the most is the strong character of Sandra in such a male-dominated world where she is ridiculed by her under-command men, but the character that really supports her is Michel, who understands her exceptional abilities. The book portrays the themes of patriotism, suspense, violence, and humor, composing a masterpiece for readers. The author represents the hardships of male and female officers in an understandable manner. The plot was rapidly moving, preventing any boredom. The author maintains a strong grip on the characters, not describing them too much, and crafts an extremely attractive scenario by paying attention to minor details.

I tried hard to detect anything that I disliked but failed to find any. I did not feel good at first when the higher authorities took the decision to replace Sandra and informed her parents without any feeling, but then I realised the decision was made to sacrifice something or someone for the greater good, to save the nations and humanity. In this manner, history is altered by those who sacrifice themselves.

I give this book 4 out of 4 stars . I do not discover any errors or typos that indicate the book is exceptionally edited. This book is fantastic to give a read, and books of this kind are intriguing ways to discover many forgotten stories of World War II. There is only borderline profanity and there is no erotic content.

This book is for history buffs and particularly for those who want to know about World War II. Lovers of war stories will equally enjoy this book. There are certain violent scenes in the book, so children should be prevented.
