Mallory M. O'Connor wrote American River: Tributaries. The story features the Mcphalan family as well as other people. The America River is in California, and it was a destination for immigrants. Owen's grandfather, Cormac Mcphalan, discovered the location while working as a gold miner. He was an immigrant from Ireland, who left his homeland to raise a family in California and unlocked a great future after accumulating enough gold. The Mockingbird Valley Ranch was handed to his heirs. Mcphalan's family and other characters were linked in the book, and their relationship could be described as an acquaintance, friendship, or partnership.

Love, romance, anger, pain, and secrets are all depicted in the novel. The author provided a full account of all the characters to the readers. Before Katy met Carl, who was into music, she had a love story with Tommy, who was David's son. Katy and Carl's feelings for each other blossomed into romance and marriage. Carl had a secret romance with Marian, who left Mockingbird for two years with Alex to pursue her dream. Katy, Alex, and Julian, a drug addict and homosexual, were Marian children. Julian's life was a misery, and Alan offered to help him, but Julian's life came to an end after a fight with his father, an Assemblyman. In this novel, other characters had an interesting role.

The novel was exciting, entertaining, and suspenseful, and the story was simple to follow. I enjoyed how the characters were intertwined and how their stories were told. I was kept in suspense throughout the novel. Katy and Carl's romance took me by surprise. This story had me guessing as to what would happen if Katy discovered that her mother had sex with Carl, who was to be her husband. However, I was shocked that the secret was kept hidden.

During my reading of the book, I found no flaws. The story was intriguing, and the characters were described in great depth. The characters were well-connected, and the sentences were well-structured with attention-grabbers to keep the readers from becoming bored.

This was an excellently written and edited book. It told a compelling story. This book gets a 4 out of 4 stars rating from me.

This is a book that I would recommend to adults. This book will appeal to readers who appreciate stories with love, romance, and experience.
