A Police Action by A. A. Freda is one amongst the best novels I have ever read. It is informative, educative, entertaining and comical. It is about a call to national assignment and love. Freda portrays the main character James Coppi as a brilliant and intelligent draftee, hardworking, enterprising, full of wisecracks and lover boy. As an intelligent young soldier, he often rescued his battalion from what could have led to deadly consequences through his advice and taken actions. This endears him to the officers and the rank and file of his battalion. He went to Vietnam and returned as a veteran. The part of Coppi which is business and profit making inclined makes him go into money lending on barracks though at fifty percent interest rate. This lucrative venture sustained him all through that he never had a cash crunch experience. After Coppi met Samantha Powers his love life changed. Despite his indecision to express his feelings of love for a woman he loves, the resolved determination of the damsel called Sam to go for what belongs to her yields a positive result and in the end they are engaged.

A Police Action is never boring. I love the way Freda is able to keep his readers spellbound by the manner with which he oscillates from military tactics and actions to love escapades to business transactions and fun and back to military actions. It is very captivating. It is like watching a movie.

Without mincing words there is nothing tangible as such which can put someone off in A Police Action. But I want to passively mention that some of the abbreviations do not make sense to anyone who has nothing to do with the military or the US. For example KP on page 21; PX on page 28 and ROTC on page 170. Though Freda tries giving the meaning of some others in the book. It would have been better if the same is done to all. Such abbreviations tend to keep you wondering - "What is the meaning of this?".

The prowess with which Freda gives insightful descriptions of malitary hardwares and operations, portrays him a veteran. This work educates and gives readers the opportunity to appreciate our military personnel the more. Also his matured ways of expressing erotic and sexual pictures without any vulgarity deserves a Kudos. Examples are: "... Allows him to enter her fully" page 15, "... Her hand reaches in, and she begins stroking his hardened member" page 32, and "... It isn't long before she inserts him inside her" page 32. This is a perfectly edited piece and I did not observe any typo nor error. I unequivocally rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

For anyone out there who loves adventures, knowledge and romance, and all leisured readers I recommend A Police Action.
