Review of Rescuing General Patton
RESCUING GENERAL PATTON BY CURTIST STEPHEN BURDICK
General George S. Patton, a brilliant and a US military strategist, an exceptional and a military genius whose presence had posed a great threat and panic to the German army and for that matter, they will go all length to eliminate him, unfortunately had been captured and interrogated but disguised himself as Colonel Henry Mueller so as not to be killed when they realize that he is actually General Patton
General Oman Bradley, among the other generals haven heard of the news of General Patton's capture, thought it very wise to act fast to rescue him before the German army get to know his real identity and kill him. A troop of rangers led by Major Peter Pizzio was assigned for this rescue mission. A lot have to sacrifice their lives to rescue this Colonel whom they latter realize was not a Colonel but rather a General. At the end, Lieutenant Colin Rooney, Lieutenant Rocco Moretta, Enrico Tomasi and his partisan soldiers succeeded in assisting General Patton to the goddamn submarine.
With determination and zeal, you can be able to achieve and emerge victorious in whatever you focus to do. I have learned a lot from the reading of this book. One of the positive traits I found was determination and that made General Oman Bradley ready to sacrifice anything and everything within his might to rescue General Patton. Not forgetting Major Peter Pizzio who also demonstrated an outstanding leadership qualities which is recommended and expected of every leader. He preferred to stand with them, fight with them and to die with them if possible and that is very remarkable.
War, as to whatever may trigger it, really cause a lot of havoc, claiming lives and destroying precious and valuable assets and resources and above all, retard growth and development of a country. I would rather suggest countries sit and seek peace through dialogue and negotiations rather than violence and war. Nevertheless, since war is inevitable, soldiers have to be fully prepared and well armored before embarking on any rescue mission.
This is an impressive and a remarkable novel. The whole book offered a fascinating and mesmerizing scenes that made me so curious to know what will happen and of course each chapter proposed something alluring and that kept me awake all night long to unravel the mystery behind. Unlike other books that I have ever read, this book has really taught me a lot of what goes on at warzones and battlefields. The story was well edited and its characterization was impressive. I felt absolutely troubled that the story would come to an end as I approached and flipped the last pages. Honestly, I will rate this book 4 out of 4
This book has a lot to tell for personnel and individuals whose hopes and aspirations are to find themselves in the military and of course, be ready to sacrifice their precious lives in other to save lives if the need arises. The language use is purely military and can teach a lot on how the army as a profession is coached and handled
