The story officially started by introducing some final year students of Engineering in a classroom, having their usual lectures. Of course some people are paying attention and others are not, Ben and Tyler are the nuisance of the class and they always disturb the likes of Esther and other members of the class .Their professor came up one day with a project and paired Ben and Esther for it, this was very unusual but they just had to accept it. They began to reading a book together; the book was about an Engineer whose name was Alec who didn’t have much experience in the field of Engineering but had an unending ambition of creating a better life for his young family. When they began reading the book Alec and Esther discovered a lot about each other, they even discovered that Alec had an ancestral link with an Engineer in the book, they were so surprised about this new discovery. As time went on their connection broke after Esther discovered that Alec had formally hacked her laptop to copy her projects, she got really disappointed and told the Professor that she couldn’t continue the project with him .Ben was left to finish the book all by himself, as he continued the book he discovered that the unexperienced Engineer-Alec, went through a lot because the main contractors for the Bridge construction had left everything for him to handle all alone, as a result of this the bridge was incorrectly done and before the contractors could correct everything properly, Alec and other People on the site had lost their lives because the bridge collapsed. As Ben concluded reading the book, he decided to take responsibility for his life and not just move with an ambition, interesting enough he graduated well and his friend Tyler had to wait for one more year.

The Bridge is a book I really enjoyed, "Andrew Palmer "really did a good job at alternating the two stories that were in the book, I didn’t get confused at any point in time. I equally liked the fact that the book explained a lot about actions and their consequences, it also pictured how by just learning someone’s experience you could change your attitude and approach a lot better. In the case of Ben, I felt that if he hadn’t read the book he did, he would have remained the same casual, irresponsible and careless adult he already was and wouldn’t have graduated from the Engineering school the time he did. What equally caught my interest was some poetry lines that were briefly mentioned.

I enjoyed the book but some parts like Blue-prints decryptions didn’t really catch my attention because I am not in the Engineering field, but the Author really tried in explaining those parts so I didn’t completely lose interest.

The book was professionally edited, I didn’t notice any grammatical blunder that disrupted my reading. Therefore, I would rate “The Bridge ” a “4 out of 4 stars” because I found the book both interesting and inspiring.

I would recommend this book to everyone, especially those who need a drive to accomplish their goals in life and not merely have an ambition about it, but need to develop a sense of responsibility and focus.
