King Amren would not permit his daughter’s love for the enemy. Catrin cannot and will not marry Marcellus, not even if she believes that he is her soul mate. She cannot share a bed with her father's enemy. So she must choose. She must choose between betraying her father and her people and following a love that will bring shame to her kingdom. This is a hard choice, but she must choose wisely, or else she will die. While King Amren worries about his daughter’s choice of lovers, he must also worry about a prophecy. This prophecy said he would die a gruesome death. How can he stop this from coming to pass? Where will he turn to seek relief and guidance? It is true, after all, that the head that wears a crown is heavy.

Dagger's Destiny is set in ancient times when witchcraft and war were prevalent. It is a time of kings and princes and their struggle for the throne. It is a historical fiction novel and also the second book in the Curse of Clansmen and Kings series. It contains a lot of truths about the actions of people that lived at this time.

I liked that Linnea Tanner spent time describing every event she wrote about in the story. Some of these events were disturbing and sad, but she described them anyway. I can not hate her or the book for this. She tried to make things as realistic as possible. However, I will not advise a young reader to read this because of this feature. Nevertheless, her accurate and clear description of the turmoil, actions, and events in the land she wrote about is what I liked the most in Dagger’s Destiny.

I am delighted with the suspense that Linnea Tanner included in many places in this book. This is not one of those predictable novels. I had no success guessing what would happen in the next line of the story. Things happened that I never foresaw. This made me more eager to read every word in the book. I also noticed Linnea Tanner’s ability to write stories from different perspectives like a pro. I knew that this was probably not an easy task, but she did it anyway. Kudos to her for achieving this great feat that only a few can do.

Dagger’s Destiny saw me jumping and cheering for certain characters. The emotions it drew out of my soul was strong and powerful. The battle scenes were epic, and the characters played their parts well. In addition to all of these, the whole text was exceptionally edited. I loved the thrill and the knowledge I got from this. In conclusion, I liked everything about Dagger’s Destiny and disliked nothing. Because of all of these, I wholeheartedly rate Dagger’s Destiny 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this to those who love historical fiction novels with exciting scenes. I should warn you that it contains strong language and depraved sexual encounters. It also contains lots of blood and death. Readers under the age of 16 should avoid Dagger's Destiny.
