Yeshua: Ecce Homo by Dave Anthony is a historical religious book that elucidates the story of Yeshua and his mission to relieve the poor and lowly while passing a message across to all.

Yeshua, the son of Yôsēp, decided to go to Qumran to think of his path and what he would do with his life. After his stay in Qumran, he decided to be with people living poor lives. Along with some of his followers, he began his journey to be with the poor and lowly ones, thereby helping them deal with the taxation and debt the rich are imposing on them. He also helped level the law in a way that would benefit the poor and make them come to an accurate understanding of the truth. While he travelled with his followers, they encountered many sick people. Yeshua cured them and prescribed a remedy they would have to follow to be cured. The people see this as a miracle, even though he tells them it isn't, and they begin bringing more sick people to him. News spread far about Yeshua, even reaching the ears of Hordos Antipas, who began to look for him. But why do you think Hordos Antipas is looking for him? Is it safe for him to come in contact with Hordos Antipas?

The book is literary fiction with a religious element, focusing on a specific target audience: the Christians. It is a relatable story demonstrating how certain principles apply to people's lives. The book makes use of words in Hebrew for all the characters' names and places too. The reason for this might be to remove specific references to God and Jesus from the story as a means to reach backsliders, seekers, and unbelievers.

What I love most about the book is that it is adventurous, riveting, and takes us back through past paths. I love how the book captures the imagination and inspires and educates us by adding insight to the reader's understanding of the story of Yeshua. Furthermore, I love the main character, Yeshua, who left his family and lived among the lowly ones. He made it his goal to help and inculcate what they have been taught wrongly. Because of this, his brother Ya'aqov followed in his footsteps and went to Qumran. His good deeds of helping the poor were undoubtedly worth imitating. Lastly, I love the maps of places found on page 3 and other pages, including pages 16 and 29 of the book, as it explains specific locations and distances.

I found nothing negative about the book, as it was very stimulating. I would gladly rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Since it has a few errors, I consider it professionally edited. It brings those religious and historical stories to mind and relates them to our modern-day. Furthermore, I recommend this book to Christians, backsliders, and seekers, as it relates to the Bible and its historical context.

From the review the book sounds interesting, I love how historical fiction books brings to life the characters displayed in the historical books. Yeshua which is Hebrew name for Jesus and Yosep which can be translated from Hebrew means Joseph, thus Jesus son of Joseph . I have a keen interest in this book, being a Christian religious scholar, I would love to see how the book brings to life the life of Jesus from birth to adulthood and the companionship of his parents. Great review.
