An intriguing fiction fashioned with an indigenous mix of ancient Celtic and Roman cultures, Dagger's Destiny by Linnea Tanner continues the never-ending tale of Britannia and Roman forces during the reign of Emperor Tiberius. In this series, Princess Catrina is charged with treason because she bedded the enemy; a Roman diplomat. On the other hand, Marcellus is also charged with treason and betrayal because he saved Catrina when a fellow Roman tried to kill her. Now, the story changes, and both Catrina and Marcellus are faced with the task of regaining their father's trust, even if it costs their love. Would Catrina be able to reverse the great curse of destruction in the means of all these crises, or would love, as they say, conquer all? The second book in the mystical series of curses of clansmen and kings, Dagger's Destiny brings the excitement of the first book to a whole new level. Get a copy of this book, and thank me later.

This series fascinated me a lot, and as a lover of myths and legends, I was highly intrigued by what it had to offer. The first book in the series, Apollo's Raven, included the first chapter of Dagger's Destiny for readers to have a glimpse of the events in the second book. Apollo's Raven narrated the events that transpired during the time that Catrina and Marcellus fell in love. This book, however, foretells how Catrina, having lost her father's love and trust because she slept with the Roman enemy, tries to win his heart back by rescuing her sister, Vala, from the Roman encampment. Marcellus, also labeled a betrayer by his fellow Romans, has to prove to his father that he is no longer a 'boy'. With Rhan's curse transforming occasionally, Catrina hopes to avoid the fatal punishment for treason by saving her sister from Roman's hands. Under the tutelage of Ferrex, she devotes her time to win back her father's trust. The turn of events fascinated me a lot. Although I believe that love conquers all, some happenings in the book almost proved otherwise. I love anything that has to do with history, and Celtic myths intrigue me deeply. I also appreciate the cultural identities the characters possess.

Furthermore, I found nothing particularly negative in this book. The book wove a delicate tapestry of ancient British and Roman customs, enlightening as well as entertaining its readers. I express profound approval of the enlightenment this book confers on readers.

The positive aspects of this book are numerous. My knowledge of ancient Britain was wide, but this book further expanded it. The book also depicts love as a tree that stands strong despite all efforts to cut it down. I fell in love with Catrina's personality, and I adore her strength and will to do what's right. The author revealed to us the true personality of ancient rulers who were steadfast in their judgments, even if it meant beheading their loved ones.

I genuinely appreciate the fact that I was presented with an opportunity to review this book. From my perspective, the book would surely count among tomorrow's bestsellers. I found no specific error in this book, and I would love to say that it was exceptionally edited. All said and done, I am rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I love the mystics of ancient druids, and this book offered plenty of it.

I recommend this book to people who appreciate ancient customs for what they are. If you'd like to read about love standing amid a massive crisis, this book is what you need. Get a copy, and as I said earlier on, thank me later. But be warned; mature and sexual contents are the order of the day in this book.
