Dagger's Destiny is an historical fiction by award-winning author, Linnea Tanner. This novel completely and thematically interweaves the concept of love, betrayal and tradition in the fight for supremacy involving three kingdoms - the Cantiaci, the Roman and the Catuvellauni. Marrock, a prince of the Cantiaci was banished and he vowed to do everything possible to overthrow his father. To do this, he planned to liaise with the other two kingdoms. While he consistently conjures up different schemes to aid his plans, the Romans and the Cantiaci are engaged in an hostile battle with Armen, the king of the Cantiaci captured and imprisoned by the Roman and Marcellus, the son of Roman politician was in turn captured by the Cantiaci. The current queen of the Cantiaci, Rhiannon set up a prisoner exchange and called a truce between both kingdoms. There were a lot of twists and turns as king Armen needed to deal with an internal crisis to save himself and the Cantiaci kingdom while at the same time, he needed to get the other two kingdoms on his side in order to prevent them from liaising with his estranged son.

Dagger's Destiny is an interesting, suspenseful and captivating book. The book has a good plot and is well-written. Errors are rare which is a testament that the book was well-proofread and edited. The map attached at the first page of the book gives the readers the perfect visualization of the kingdoms in the book. The conversations, words and grammar used in this book are clear and concise which enables easy comprehension. The scenes, characters and locations are perfectly described and the combats is well-depicted. I will also commend the author for including a list of the characters at the end of the book as this could greatly help with quick recollection of each character. I also like the way the author was able to string together, the scenes in each kingdom as events unfold in the book without creating confusion.

Dagger's Destiny is really interesting, action-filled and captivating. I find no fault in the book. The words used are unambiguous, and the book was well proofread. The way the author sequentially explains each action as they unfold is proof that the book was well-plotted.

I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was perfectly plotted, well-proofread and easy to comprehend.

I would recommend Dagger's Destiny to people who are interested in reading historical fictions during their leisure time.
