The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Post by britinkiwiland »

Signing is as britinkiwiland...

Im sure everyone has seen The Help movie but the book is so much more.
The book follows The Help (black maids) who bring up white children, who in the end grow up to hire their own Help and the cycle starts over again. The story is not as simple as I have put it, the setting in South USA, where racial discrimination was at an all time high, The Help are treated poorly, paid badly and disrespected with no way of defending themselves, but where there is a will there is a way - Minnie (read the book).
There is so much more to find out by reading this book.
It is a heartwarming, empowering story full of tears and love.
