Review of Operation Olive Tree
"I dream of the day when the children of Abraham can gather under one roof to break the bread that linked our past to his name, and make one pledge that gives our destiny historical worthiness: war, no more.” This is the first paragraph of the book Operation Olive Tree.
The book Operation Olive Tree is a historical fiction, love, and action book written by Jemil Metti. It's a story of Irith and Jamal as they desired to create a peaceful coexistence between the nation of Israel and Palestine. The author captured love, betrayal, and war in one piece. For decades the two nations have conflicted with each other, but some people like Irith's aunt believe there's a solution. Neve Shalom was a school that has both citizens of Israel and Palestine as students. Though the school has been outlined for destruction by those who feel that the two nations should have nothing in common. Now Irith, an Israelite, and Jamal a Palestinian find themselves in the same school, and fall in love, but will the conflict between their native lands allow these two love birds to marry? Their relationship, can it bring peace to the conflict? The answer is in this book.
I like the fact that the book is not lengthy. I like the plot of the characters. The characters were also well thought-out. Another thing I like is the level of energy and passion the author applied in writing the book it makes the book more appealing to me. I so much like the title of the book. It captured my attention at first sight, and that's what made me read the book. I think some readers might easily relate to this book using the Russia-Ukrain conflict as a light example.
The positive aspect of the book is the author's use of easy-to-comprehend words. The book has a great storyline that creates suspense that keeps the reader reading the book. The figures of speech were well blended. And I must compliment the author's storytelling style, it's unique and superb. The book has a good setting and it was well-formatted.
My only dislike about the book is that the chapters were just numbered. I believe if the chapters had a title included, the book would have been more engaging, and this will give the reader a detailed insight into what each chapter contains. Secondly, the book's cover looks unprofessional and not captivating considering the content of the book. But the book was exceptionally well-edited and well-structured. The book was also excellently formatted and logically arranged without any grammatical errors.
I rate the book Operation Olive Tree five out of five stars because the book was exceptionally well-edited, well-structured and logically arranged. The editorial team did a great job on the book.
The book is educative and inspiring. I recommend the book Operation Olive Tree by Jemil Metti to anyone who loves books with political themes. I also recommend it to anyone interested in politics, history, conflict resolution, and historical fiction. Especially, to anyone interested in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
