Dagger's Destiny is Linnea Tanner's second book in the Curse of Clansmen and Kings. Set in the ancient world of Rome and Britannia. It is a tale of war, love, wizardry, bravery, and hostility. It is the resounding story of forbidden love between Catrin, a Celtic heiress, and Marcellus her Roman captor. Torn between loyalty to her father’s dynasty and her undying love for Marcellus in the time of hostility between these two empires. Catrin must prove her loyalty to her father the king and win back his trust. King Amren, thinks his daughter is disloyal to him by loving a Roman enemy.

Catrin is not only fighting for love and her father’s trust. She became the warrior who is fighting to dispel the prophecy that implies that her errant half-brother Marrock, and King Cunobelin of the Roman Empire will besiege their kingdom. Would Catrin do without her love? Would she regain her father's trust? What about saving the kingdom? What can she do? These and more are left to discover in this scintillating novel.

The book starts interestingly. It is engrossing, straightforward, and circumspect. Linnea Tanner’s introductions are well done. There is sufficient information to help the readers grasp the full length of the story. Linnea Tanner is a talented writer with enough creativity and style that makes reading her story on ancient civilization, interesting to contemporary readers. Her act of storytelling is commendable. It is suspenseful, engaging, and entertaining. It informs the reader of a different era and describes the ancient world with such near perfect depiction.

Linnea’s presentation in this book is ace. The characters are illustrious. The settings and conversations are eventful and well- thought out. I also like love that the language and word usage are simple and imagery. The backgrounds, settings, and scenes are well-integrated. It was fun reading this book, I got to know many more ancient patterns and cultures by reading this book. I look forward to reading the other series of this story. The graphic cover art design is colorful and intriguing.

Honestly, Dagger's Destiny by Linnea Tanner is a good read and deserves a 5 out of 5 stars rating. It is especially well-edited and I did observe a single error as I read. Linnea Tanner’s storytelling is breathtaking and inspiring. It reads like a good fantasy novel. The literary elements and devices it employs are effective, appealing, and impressionable. Linnea’s story is brilliant and evocative. I would recommend this book to lovers of historical fiction, fantasies, the ancient world, and mythologies. It is especially ideal for young and adult readers.
