This book has romance, humour, action and many more genres. And also a beautiful a lesson of getting your way right and doing the right thing despite a bad childhood. I would love to know more about Stephen. Congrats on BOTD!

I cannot imagine how hard it was for Stephen to be branded a killer by his own family. After all he was also suffering from the loss of his mother. I find strong language unsettling especially if used often in a book. I will pass this time.

This historical fiction sounds like a powerful and moving story in teaching about self-value regardless what another person or people say negatively to you. I also like that it is a standalone in the series. Great review!

I would be much more interested in Stephen's journey to becoming a published author than in his love life.

It's cruel to blame children for their parent's death, and with all the abuse Stephen suffered, I don't think I can read this book. There should be a rule as to how much authors can torture their characters. Thank you for your review.

Coming from home and having a misunderstanding with you is quite painful. I felt and understand what Stephen must have gone through. He is a great inspiration to the reader and also the society. Great review.

I was hooked from the get-go. One of the best things the author does is turn this fictitious book into something that sounds and feels real. I love reading stories about people who are able to pick themselves up after being beaten down. Even if Stephen doesn’t live the happiest life—who could with the physical and emotional scars he has—at least he’s trying to distance himself.
The review was wonderfully written. I especially love how you included lessons you learned from your reading. Thank you for sharing.

I typically struggle to really get into a book if there isn’t a good hook right at the beginning which is something I really enjoyed about the sample of this writing. Within a few sentences my imagination was immediately spinning as to where the story was headed. Very intriguing!

Very helpful and detailed review. I enjoyed sampling the first few chapters and liked the author's style of writing, the suspense, and Stephen as the character. I did not like the abuse inflicted on Stephen in his childhood and am not a fan of romantic fiction so I will not be reading on. But I agree with the reviewer that this book is enticing and deserves the top rating.

Stephen seems like a fascinating character. I would like to know if he achieves his dream of being a famous and published author. I hope he can be happy with Julie. I like novels with a touch of humor. This one sounds perfect for romance lovers.

I really sympathize with Stephen as I cannot fathom how it must feel to live with such an accusation/blame and the pressure of not falling in the same pattern. Stephen may not be a real person, but there are people who actually go through this. Y’all are strong, and we appreciate your perseverance to strive to be better everyday. Congrats on the BOTD!

The Rock at the bottom.
Dedicated to Daniel. The angel Daniel & the end of the world, the end of the Rock. The book starts with I killed my mother.
Cynthia Hilston writes about the next generation turning away from alcohol, away from the traits of the father.
Congratulation on being BOTD
