This book seems very interesting based on the review. The author could keep its audience entertained and the story seems well-written.

It must be super hard to be accused of something so awful when you are just a child. But I love romance with a little humor. I never would have guessed this book had humor in it.
Good review!

I'm not a fan of romance, but this seems to have much more going for it. I'm interested in what will become of Stephen. Congratulations on BOTD!

Good review! This review gave me an insight into the story about an unhappy childhood and subsequent life of the author. I already put it on my list to read.

Having never known love, only abuse, I wonder how successful Stephen's marriage to Julie will be. Thank you for your review.

This book is actually my cup of coffee, the use of strong sexual words without disguising them really excites me. I'd recommend this type of a book anytime for fictions people. #the rock at the bottom.

I wonder if there are any similarities between the authors upbringing and that of Stephen?
We've longed to see the roses, but never felt the thorns
And bought our pretty crowns, but never paid the price
Find me in the river, find me there
Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare

Thanks for the great review. This isn't my usual genre but after reading your review and the sample, I've added this book to my reading list. Grief affects everyone differently and Stephen's father chose alcohol and resenting his son. I wonder whether Stephen will manage to tackle the demons from his childhood or will the cycle continue?

I think The Rock at the Bottom is required reading for anyone affected by addiction. Joel H. Cohen's flawless portrayal of his struggles with drugs and alcohol is both compelling and enlightening. She provides an in-depth look at the experience of addiction and recovery, and her message of hope is a powerful reminder that it is possible to change and grow, no matter how far you feel you have fallen.
