Sounds like an interesting book.
From the look of things, I believe there's a lot to learn from the book.
As a lover of fictional books, this book is definitely for me.

The book sounds interesting and very heartwarming telling Annalise's story and her struggles to have a better future and a better life. But war fiction has never been my cup of tea; still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Unfortunately I'm not a fan of fictional family drama or any other family drama, so I will skip this. Thank you for the exceptional review.

The BOTD features a family living in Germany during the Nazi regime. While they are not Jewish, they still felt the oppression by the government and witnessed the barbaric treatment of people in concentration camps. Nice review.

This seems like a sad story of the struggles and challenges of the Klaus family. Finding themselves trying to survive from been a Nazi. Hans was sent of to war, their father lost the relationships with his Jewish colleagues and Annalise trying to get her family together.

The book provided a captivating experience, blending fiction with a sense of realism. It successfully incorporated numerous surprising turns in the plot, some of which were emotionally powerful and moved me to tears. It skillfully portrayed the backdrop of Nazi Germany, specifically a war-torn Berlin during the invasion of the allied forces.

I usually like books with many chapters as they provide the opportunity to read just a couple of pages each day and don't get lost in the story.

After sampling this book, I agree with you on the writing style. Your review is lovely, but I don't think I'd be able to read such an emotionally heart wrenching story.

It is rare to find a book narrating the impact of war on German families and soldiers rather than the alliance. I commend the author for her bravery and unusual approach to the World War II topic. Excellent review!

Once we were a family by Nancy Saling Graham took me on an emotional rollercoaster, evoking a myriad of feelings that left me captivated and deeply moved. The author skillfully introduces us to a diverse cast of characters, each with their own struggles, dreams, and aspirations. This mesmerizing narrative left an indelible mark on my soul, and I am eager to finish the book

This fictional novel offers an intriguing perspective on a family's experiences during Nazi Germany. It ranges from the growth of the Nazi party, its rise to power, the World War, and the arrival of the Allied forces. It is interesting that each family member may have had a different position toward the Nazis.
