Dagger's Destiny by Linnea Tanner centres on the love story of Marcellus and Catrin. Being Roman and Celt, theirs was a forbidden love. Branded as traitors, when their feelings were brought to light, they each must prove their loyalty to their people. King Amren has agreed to a marriage between his youngest daughter, Catrin, and Adminius, the first son of King Cunobelin. Meanwhile, Lucius Antonius, seeking to restore his family's legacy, seeks to incite war between King Amren of Cantiaci and King Cunobelin of Catuvellauni. Marrock and his cohorts are plotting his ascent to the Cantiaci throne and the fulfilment of Rhan's prophecy.

With enemies lurking in the shadows set on thwarting all their efforts to establish a peaceful relationship between Britannia and Rome and the threat of a dark prophecy etched on a dagger looming over their heads, will Marcellus and Catrin's love prevail despite the odds? Is Marcellus doomed to lose everything because of a foreign woman? Will Lucius Antonius, Marcellus' father, succeed in inciting a war between the kingdoms of Cantiaci and Catuvellauni? Will the prophecy be fulfilled? Or can Catrin find a way to change it once again?

Daggers destiny is a beautifully written book. It is the second book in the Curse of the Clansmen and King series. The author did a great job incorporating events from the first book so that it blends in smoothly and doesn't confuse the reader. I especially loved how the storyline came together perfectly in the end. Also, adding Latin words and phrases adds a tinge of originality and gives the reader an appreciation of Roman culture.

There is nothing to dislike. I encountered no errors while reading, showing that it was amazingly well-edited. Linnea Tanner wrote the book in such a way as to pique the interest of the readers and leave them eager to read the other books in the series.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The characters were well-developed. The map of Britannia provided in the book gives the reader an idea of the territory of Britannia, its size, the various tribes that comprise it, and the proximity of tribes to each other. Also, politics is another theme in this book, and the author did a splendid job showing how each leader rules, gains allies and makes negotiations work in their favour.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy books on history, historical fiction, politics, and magic.

This was a lovely review. The storyline looked like a typical Romeo and Juliet type of book. As a romance novel reader, I would definitely read this. Great review.

I love books that are a mix of various genres; it's rare to experience boredom while reading such novels. With so many interesting subplots, this sure sounds like an amazing thriller. The idea of having a forbidden affair while still having to fight for their kingdom means a lot of action to be expected. You wrote an amazing review that makes one eager to read the story. Big up!

This is a well articulated review, except for the one mistake you made. I enjoyed this review and I also love historical fiction. The Romans and the Celts might not want the union, but I believe it will prevail. Just hoping that the romance is nice enough.
