The Spinster Bride by Jane Goodger

Post by browndi3 »

I enjoyed this book very much. Lady Marjorie Penhistle is a twenty-three year old spinster that is being blackmailed by Mr. Norris into helping him find a wife. The story began when Lady Marjorie twenty year old brother George Penwhistle, the Earl of Summerfield lost twenty-four thousand five hundred and seventy-five pounds in a card game to Mr. Norris, money that he did not have to lose. Charles, Mr. Norris offered to forgive George debt, if she will do him one favor, help him to find a wife. Because of his greatest flaw, 'falling in love at first sight', Mr. Norris picked Marjorie because he wasn't attracted to her. In the background, stood Marjorie bulldog of a mother, who would not settle for nothing short of a title for her daughter. What follow, will have you laughing and crying, but it will be a very good read.
