The detail in this book makes you feel like you are there. The descriptions are unique to the author's style, but still clear in meaning. The rush of the story. The pain, joy, love, and fear are all felt in every page of this book.

“She had to hurry, though. The fire between her sister and Belinus would soon cool.” It is light hearted and funny. The story is unexpected and fulfilling. There is so much betrayal between family, friends, and nations. One minute people are trying to understand each other and the next is chaos. No one can be trusted. Everything is not what it seems and assumptions only cloud judgment.

Catrin seems to be the hero of the whole story. Even though her own mother fears her powers. Queen Rhiannon, her mother, deeply believes that the path is set in stone for Catrin and she is incapable of changing her fate.

The love between Marcellus and Catrin was so hot and complex. He was her first love. Catrin was not only completely infatuated by him but could also read his memories. The strange act made them closer as they both accepted the parts that were not traditional or seen as normal. There are a lot of love stories but all are complex and difficult. No one ever tells anyone the whole plan or reveals all their secrets to one person. Everyone in this story is very guarded because of the betrayal they have faced. The conditions are horrendous but each clan or family truly has the best intentions for one another.

Nothing is as it seems. There are so many twists and turns. Which makes the story that much more interesting. With every hanging detail it just draws you in more to find out what is next. It finally seems that Marcellus is fighting in despite the unconventional circumstances, but then everything is through to the wind. The villagers believe he tried to harm their precious princess Catrin. Catrin is taken hostage by the spirit guide who is not who she claims. Catrin relates more to the foreign hostage Marcellus than her own people. You never know what to expect. The story brings the reader back in time. Tribes and nations are new and ruled by kings who two faced. The characters all have deep backgrounds that force you to route for them or spies despise them. A Celtic story of cursed lovers. Such a good read, 5 out of 5!
