JFK: Final Desecration by Kit Basher uses artificial intelligence, referred to as AI, to create images related to the conspiracy theories surrounding the Kennedy assassination. The author explained that there are no photographs or other physical images in the book. Although there are images on every page of the book, they were all created by AI image generators. Basher studied the Kennedy assassination and began submitting image requests to an image-generating platform. The platform created images interpreting the data he provided. The author warned readers that many sacred images get desecrated on the pages of the book.

I liked the author’s explanation of the book. However, by feeding the image generator facts about the Kennedy family and other historical figures, the images portray these people in ways that can be unsettling. There is a mixture of pop culture, science fiction, and history in the images. Many of the images look like real photographs but contain absurd subjects, like bigfoot on the grassy knoll with a rifle. Other images contain disturbing depictions of violent deaths. The descriptions next to the images relay conspiracy theories and absurd comments about various people in history. However, the author noted that nothing in the book is real.

People who enjoy science fiction or have an interest in AI generation platforms may enjoy this book. Even though Basher acknowledged that the images were generated by the AI platform, I found many of the images disturbing. Because the images were of historical figures, it seemed disrespectful to see their likenesses depicted in this way. That is what I liked least about the book. There is a focus on the Kennedy assassination and the images can be gruesome at times. President Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, John F. Kennedy, Jr., Bobby Kennedy, and Marilyn Monroe are all depicted in the book, among others.

There were less than ten errors in the book, so I believe it was professionally edited. I understand the premise of the book is to provide images generated by artificial intelligence based on facts and information provided by the author, but I found the book confusing at times. Many of the images and topics did not make sense to me. Even though the book is not intended to make sense, it made reading difficult at times. Also, the written information provided next to each image contains outrageous statements and conspiracy theories. I would not recommend this book to young readers or readers who are sensitive to violent images.

I give this book a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. I would not rate it any higher because it was confusing at times and lacked structure. It jumped around from topic to topic without explanation. I would not rate it any lower because the author spent a great deal of time providing the data and questions to the AI generator to develop these images. It is a highly creative and imaginative way to approach a topic that has been studied so much over the years.
