These books transport you to different time periods and provide a unique perspective on history while engaging you with well-developed characters and compelling stories!

"The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah" Historical fiction novel set during World War II. It talks about the Nazi-occupied France.

All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr" It is also set during World War II, and the writing is rich in detail and imagery, capturing both the beauty and destruction of the wartime setting.
To your surprise, the book has been adapted in a film and set to be released this November. Can't wait to see!

Can you suggest some other works of historical fiction?

Have you seen the Netflix series of ‘All the Light we Cannot See’? It’s beautifully filmed! They have changed a fair amount from the book but it’s definitely worth a watch.
Some recommendations - ‘The Midwife of Auschwitz’ and ‘The Last Green Valley’. Both WW2, both very harrowing but both are fantastic books.
