If you like historical fiction this book is great. I bought it originally as a souvenir from the International Spy Museum in Washington DC in June. I had been reading a different book, so it sat collecting dust for a little while. Boy was that a mistake! This book is great. It is set around the events between Stalin and Hitler that started the war. It is apparently the second book about Inspector Pekkala that Sam Easton has wrote about. I will be searching for the 1st and any others after. The beginning was a little slow but the ending was full of suspense and action. Pekkala is an emotional character that frequently dives into his previous memories of love, service and loss. His character appeal is strong. Stalin even becomes humanized in this book. I recommend this book and I will be looking for more work by this author.
