Most people surrender to the life circumstances they were born into. They do what they're expected to do. Some don't even dare to think there are other options. People who dare to think about what they really want and what they can and can't do have a different life experience. In The Shot Not Heard Around the World by Charlie Damitz, a young man finds himself in an armed confrontation with another man from the enemy's side. It was that moment that made him realize he was not capable of taking another soul that could be a father to someone else. The surprise was that the other man also paused and didn't attack him. They parted, but faith brought them together again because it had plans for them. Together, they started learning medicine and started their medical careers, through which they could help people.

The book is a lesson about humanity for me. I like how two people decided to refuse what their morals couldn't accept and choose their path in life. They could overcome many obstacles. It takes a lot of courage to walk away from the herd, but the results are rewarding. I like how the doctor helped the two men start their medical careers. They were all devoted to helping people. The book has many details about medicine back in the time and how some things were treated. It is informative and makes you feel grateful that medicine has come this far.

There was nothing I disliked about the book. I liked it, and reading it was a good experience. The writing style is smooth and keeps you engaged. The book received exceptional editing. I didn't notice any errors or mistakes. Therefore, I rate The Shot Not Heard Around the World by Charlie Damitz five out of five stars.

The book better suits adults who wouldn't have sensitivities towards some violence and uncomfortable medical details. The book has a good portion of those.
