Review of Dagger's Destiny
Dagger’s Destiny by Linnea Tanner is a fantasy historical novel from a time when people believed in gods like Apollo. It centres around the love story of Catrin, the daughter of Amren, and Marcellus, the son of Lucius. Catrin is a Celt who also has power, while Marcellus is a Roman, but because there’s a war between their two kingdoms, this makes their love a forbidden one. The two are caught together in bed and tagged as traitors by their respective families. Catrin, being powerful, used her power to extend Marcellus’ life at the prison exchange between the two kingdoms and when Marrock wanted to kill him, which changed the course of the dagger. Now Catrin will have to prove her loyalty to her father by forsaking her love and making some important decisions when the time arises. Will she be able to? What’s the fate of her kingdom?
I enjoyed reading this novel because it was quite intriguing, though the beginning was a little bit slow-paced. This is something that can only be born from a deep place of imagination. I admire the author’s imagination and pen skills. Also, the characters have enough backstory that makes them less of a stranger because it can be quite confusing at times as there are several characters. I love how Catrin can adjust to whatever situation she finds herself in. She didn’t like Ferrex, the guard assigned to watch and teach her, yet she let herself learn from him, which later came in handy. Ferrex is a guard that one would want around because of how loyal he is.
There’s nothing I dislike about the novel. It’s quite interesting and has a lot of plot twists. Thank goodness that time has evolved, because imagine not being able to marry someone you love because your kingdoms do not like each other. There were no errors in the novel. It has a lot of profanity, though. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It's recommended for people who love fantasy novels.

Your commendation of the collection’s impact, despite its use of figurative language, and the flawless execution is encouraging. As a fellow poetry enthusiast, your recommendation has certainly piqued my interest. I look forward to experiencing the poetic and musical harmony Tiki Black offers.
