Truth and Evil by G. Edward Martin opens at the beginning of a story of a young German man at the start of World War II. This story recounts the tale of our main character as he journeys through the war and the consequences of his actions during these tragic years. The protagonist takes an epic journey after he is killed in the line of duty after a horrifying critical decision that he makes, and the result of his actions is shown with every step in this harrowing tale.

This book is, first and foremost, absolutely not for the lighthearted. It is by no means a book for those looking for a story that will only bring forth happy and positive emotions, and it is not recommended for children as well as those who are sensitive to topics such as war and assault. That being said, this story is one of the best stories that I have read in quite some time. In just a few short pages, the author has managed to pack some of the most important truths and lessons into a tale that is easy to follow. While this book focuses on conveying morals through a Christian lens, the lessons that it teaches are applicable regardless of the reader’s religious beliefs. The author’s writing talent shines brilliantly as he invites the reader to consider challenging their beliefs about their impact on the world through his incredible way with words and manipulation of complex topics.

Truthfully, there was no part of this book that I did not like. I found every paragraph to be more riveting than the first, and I found the author's style of writing to be very intriguing and entertaining. For these reasons, along with the book's flawless editing, I rate this book a 5 out of 5. This book had no typos or grammatical errors, and there are no instances of profanity. This book does contain sexual content in the form of two instances of sexual assault. This book is recommended for mature audiences and is especially applicable for readers who follow the Christian faith.
