Beautifully crafted by Timothy Cooleen, the novel Beyond the Veil is an interesting read. Being a historical novel, the story dates back to 724 AD.

The novel begins with the beautiful, romantic love story of Cael and Lochanna, followed by that of Padraig the King and Mora the Queen. But it is not just about some mere love stories—it's a story of two kingdoms—totally opposite—one strong with a king who deeply loves and cares about his subjects and the other who doesn't. The story of people who were consumed by greed until one day, the greed consumed them. It is a story where the people live to see and die to protect the Ancient Dream of Conn.

Tolmagh, the traitor, allies with the king of another kingdom to kill his king and queen so that he can sit on the throne. And being partially successful, the king makes his journey beyond the veil. The queen is entrusted with the responsibility of the kingdom. But with a traitor in the council and the king dead, can Queen Mora, with her trusted ones, save the kingdom from its fall? Will the Ancient Dream of Conn come true? Dive into reading to sprinkle water on the fire of curiosity.

Divided into scenes rather than the usual boring chapters, the book is unique. And adding to its speciality, the book sounds poetic with the use of inversion, a figure of speech. Moreover, the storyline was compelling with its beautiful seasoning of romance. Furthermore, the book seemed to be well edited, as the ratio of the number of errors to the size of the novel was almost negligible. Lastly, there isn't anything about the book that I disliked, nor could I think of any improvement that is needed.

Consisting of mature themes, this novel is best suited for people over 16 who love historical themes and interesting stories that leave them on the edge.

Finally, weighing all the merits and demerits of the book as mentioned above, I would like to rate it a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

I am curious about the Ancient Dream of Conn. I hope it can help Queen Mora save the kingdom. She must find the traitor and banish or punish them. I will enjoy reading this historical novel. Great Review!

The way the author developed the characters was really well done. Each one felt distinct and interesting. The plot wasn’t as engaging at times, but the characters kept me invested.
