The book; COLUMBUS, SLAVE TRADER by Marcus Wilson is an exposition into the travails of the indigenous people of the Americas called Indians by the Europeans. Although set in fiction, the story goes beyond the fictional lives of the characters and delves into the historical aspect of the first arrival of Columbus to Hispaniola. It starts with the return of Guarocuya back home from Spain, here we see his attempts to forge peace between his people and the Spanish intruders, coming to a halt at the point where he is torn between his loyalty to his people and his faith in the Spanish sovereignty. We also go with him on his journey back to Spain to seek the favor of his Godmother The Queen, to put a stop to the cruelty of the Spanish troops sent forth to save souls and mine gold. COLUMBUS, SLAVE TRADER by Marcus Wilson is a very interesting historical book, describing historical events through the lens of fictional characters, the book describes the history of Hispaniola and its people, widely described as savages, cannibals, and heathens, this book presents a humane front of these people, a factual separation between what indeed occurred and untrue tales of Columbus arrival in the new world.

I like this book because it book provides a wealth of knowledge on the union of Isabel and Ferdinand of Spain and the history of Hispaniola. The misleading impression created by Admiral Columbus to the King and Queen of Spain, to his fellow voyagers, and to the inhabitants of Hispaniola and how this misleading impression dealt a fatal blow to the indigenous inhabitants of Hispaniola. Another positive aspect of this book is that it provides knowledge on the Spaniard Caste System and the Spanish Inquisition, how the Spaniards unfairly and unjustly discriminated amongst themselves and other tribes, and their superiority complex. The topic of slavery is also touched upon. There are no typographical errors in this book. There are no negative aspects as i thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I rate the book COLUMBUS, SLAVE TRADER by Marcus Wilson 5 out of 5 stars. The reason for my rating is the positive aspects above.
I recommend this book to lovers of history and human rights. I recommend this book to students as it is very educating.
