I enjoyed reading this book very much. I thought it was an excellent story and was well-written. This was a book about a soldier and the things he does as a soldier. He went on his journey alongside God to help him grow and learn from his mistakes. I wouldn't normally choose a book with true and historical components, but in this case, I was happy to have decided to choose something different than what I would normally read. The story was a fairly simple idea with only a few characters but was told in a way that it didn't need anything added to the story. The characters and situations were done well enough to stand alone. I appreciated the ideas expressed by the author throughout the journey of the soldier. The character development of the soldier was well thought out and able to hold the interest of the reader for the entirety of the book. I thought the author did an excellent job showing the detailed growth and struggle of the main character. As the reader, you can gain a good understanding of the character and be able to hate him and then appreciate his development as he navigates life lessons. While this book has so much to do with God and the devil and the struggle of man, I do still think someone of any religion or nonreligious belief would enjoy this book. It was a good book, regardless of beliefs. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 rating. I didn't notice any spelling or editing errors in the book. It was edited very well. I thought the story flowed well throughout the entirety of the book. I liked that this book wasn't very long. It was easily readable in one sitting. I thought the author did a great job making the soldier and his evolution and struggles (both inner and outer) relatable to the average person. All of us struggle with good and bad decisions. The only thing I would change is making the ending more detailed. I would have liked to read more about how the soldier's life turned out. I would absolutely recommend this book to someone. It was a good book and worth the time to read.
