This book, like the others in the series, sounds incredibly interesting. I love historical fiction stories. It sounds like this book can be read as a standalone which is the only way I would pick up a book in the middle of a series.

I had no idea that Skills of the Warramunga is a part of a trilogy. I have to ask this for those that have read the other books- Do I have to read the other two in order to understand what is going on in this one? I would like to read this one as it is BOTM but if I do not understand the entirety of the story with just this book, then I will have to catch up and read the other two first.
