This is so refreshing. It's always more interesting when one spins their life stories in poetry lines.

I will be reading this with a handkerchief in hand. It is good to see a life experience in terms of poetry. Congrats to the book of the day.

Thank you for the review, I enjoyed reading it. This book sounds like a very interesting and inspiring book for me to read. I definitely will be reading it.The name of the book, and even the poetry in it reminds me of the shows Black-ish, and Mixed-ish, because they talk about Black history on their shows, and that is what I feel that the author is referencing to.

I see enough in this review to give the book a try, particularly if there's stuff in there to do with growing up too fast.

I agree with your understanding of the title. I, too, was expecting a whimsical approach. Thank you for the thorough review!
